Son is reportedly a key player on the pre-season tour in South Korea. Where fans there expect their country’s top superstar to travel with the team and play in a friendly against Newcastle United in Seoul on August 3.
The game comes after Hong Kong’s match against Arsenal on July 31.
Son’s absence could cause problems for tournament organisers and business partners. As activities involving the captain have already been planned and Tottenham Hotspur are obliged to follow through on those plans.
