Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas is confident Lionel Messi will stay at the club. Until the end of his contract in 2025 and possibly into the 2026 football season.
Messi’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in mid-2023. After which he signed with Inter Miami and is contracted to the MLS club until the end of the 2025 season UFABET
In the 2024 season, Inter Miami won the Supporters’ Shield. Which is awarded to the team that finishes first in the regular season standings. But when it came to the playoffs. They fell from the first stage, losing to Atlanta United, causing Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino to resign as head coach.
Messi’s future is also in doubt, leading Mas to question the situation and give an explanation.
“Messi has a contract until 2025. Leo and I will sit down and talk about the future.” Mas said.
“As I have said before and will say it again. I fully expect that when our new stadium opens in 2026 and the 2026 MLS season begins. Leo Messi will still be our number 10 after a trophy-laden 2025 season.”
While there’s no built-in option for an extra year, Mas seems pretty confident that the soccer superstar will be around for the team’s big move from Fort Lauderdale’s DRV PNK Stadium to their shiny new home, Miami Freedom Park.
